He wrote the lyrics with help from his young daughter. He said, "I started writing "El Invento" around 2017 when Laura was born. Damien Jurado's new album, "The Monster Who Hated Pennsylvania," will be out next Friday. Each song on the album tells the story of a different person, all imagined by Jurado. It was self-produced by him and has multi-instrumentalist Josh Gordon on bass, guitar, drums, percussion, and keys.
Singer-songwriter and author Patti Smith announced her upcoming subscription-based newsletter in a video on Instagram, in which she said the new weekly venture will contain original photos, essays on books and movies, and more. There will also be a paid subscription option that gives access to The Melting, a serial that Smith wrote over the past year in quarantine that she’s described as a “journal of [her] private pandemic.”: bit.ly

Bowie made an appearance on Soul Train singing (actually, lip synching) "Golden Years" and "Fame" on November 4, 1975. Few white performers had appeared on the show, but host Don Cornelius gave him a warm welcome, introducing him as "one of the world’s most popular and important music personalities."
For Bowie, Soul Train was a big deal because he grew up listening to many of the American R&B artists who appeared on the show. He was nervous, and reportedly got a little drunk beforehand to take the edge off; footage does appear to show him stumbling over his lyrics.: www.youtube.com

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE - LIVE AT THE SHOWBOX !
Like so many other artists, we expected to play a lot of shows in 2020. To gear up for the year ahead, we decided to warm up by playing an intimate, three night stand at a venue that's near and dear to our hearts - the Showbox in Seattle. Well, 2020 didn't quite turn out like we had planned - but happily those three magical nights last February did, and we're glad to say that we had them recorded!
LIVE AT THE SHOWBOX is a 17-track selection of songs from those three wonderful evenings, and it is available now for 24 hours only until 11:59pm PT on Friday 5/7, exclusively on Bandcamp. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Independent Venue Association (www.nivassoc.org), who are doing crucial work to ensure that venues will still be there on the other end of this pandemic.

The chords in this song are a slowed down replica of Killing Joke's 1985 song "Eighties." The songs were so similar that Nirvana considered holding off releasing the song as a single. Killing Joke considered legal action, but when Kurt Cobain died, they decided not to sue.
