Hi :) I turned 45. Wow.
While my 4 year old son and my mate were making my birthday cake, I went for a 2 hours walk with KEXP on my headphones, something that I started to do during this pandemic time.
I felt so right.
This year I increased my KEXP donation on spring drive. Difficult times sometimes give us a bright certainty of what is really important in life. And KEXP is a long time friend that I respect and care for.
Because it set my mood on my birthday morning, I would like to hear Balcony Man, by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
Thank you. All the best.

Hi John & Magical Morning Team,
We are shaken here in Bed Stuy this morning by the news out of Atlanta. I'm as white as it gets (Danish white) but my partner Panthea (“Pan-thee”) is Taiwanese and so it feels so emptying to read about this. That these crimes are not immediately called out as race-related hate crimes is yet another way that the narrative is kept away from the issues at hand. It is proven that the first to speak, set the terms of the conversation and now we have to do all the work of having to prove that this was a race-related hate crime, when we should be mourning with our community.
Will it be able to play some Asian acts in solidarity with what this community is going through. We love Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Phenom amazing song:
I've been so politely at the bottom
Pull it tight boot strap
Strap it on and top em
In the past
I was patient
Now I'm so tired
Thank you for all the music / Amplifier love from Bed-Stuy,
Troels
