Emancipator, aka Doug Appling, was born and raised in Virginia, where he studied violin from ages 4 to 12, progressing to electric guitar, drums, and bass as a teenager. He cites his father's "eclectic music collection" as sparking his interest in electronic music, while his mother "who'd volunteered in the Peace Corps," exposed him to "African thumb pianos and sounds from beyond the Western palette."

Damien Jurado's third album in the past 12 months "The Monster Who Hated Pennsylvania" comes out May 14th, 2021. Along with the news of a new album, Jurado is sharing his first foray into label running with the aptly named Maraqopa Records.

In an interview, Corgan said, "My grandmother used to tell me that one of the biggest things that ever happened was when Lillian Gish rode through town on a train, my grandmother lived in the middle of nowhere, so that was a big deal". Later, Corgan joked that the album was originally going to be called "Fish", but was changed to "Gish" to avoid comparisons to jam band Phish.

Good morning! I hope you’re doing well. Today is kind of a tough day for me and my sisters. Seven years ago my mom Melinda died of pancreatic cancer. I was six months pregnant at the time and I felt so lost. Since then, I’ve watched my little kiddo grow and learn. I know she would have loved him but it’s hard to know he’ll never get to meet her. We keep her memory alive by telling stories of her very weird sense of humor and fearless adventuring in Montana. If you have time, could you play something by Snow Patrol?
