Hi! I'd like to request a song by Deep Sea Diver on the Morning Show today. Perhaps 'Impossible Weight' or 'Stop Pretending'. Jessica Dobson dropped by my daughter's virtual Girl Scout meeting on Wednesday to help the troop earn their "Musician" badge. (shout out to Troop 41933 and their fearless leader Emma Woods!) Jessica was very inspiring and even composed a song on the spot about her dog Henry to sing to the girls (he's a bad, bad, bad boy!) Fun was had by all. Thanks! Ben S _______ About the same time yesterday on Twitter from the band: @deepseadiverbnd ·16h This is Peter. One of my favorite things about Jessica is how she takes every musical opportunity so seriously without ever phoning it in. Right now she is getting ready to play a zoom call to a group of Girl Scouts and is rehearsing the same way as if it were live on SNL.

Miss Grit, is the project of Korean-American musician Margaret Sohn. She had this to say about the latest preview from her upcoming EP, Impostor: “‘Blonde’ is the song my angsty, adolescent self would have written,” Sohn said in a statement. “She was willing to adapt to her surroundings though her surroundings were unwilling to adapt to her.” Find it on bandcamp: missgrit.bandcamp.com

Much has been made of the painstaking recording process for The Meadowlands, and for good reason, as the steadfast commitment to home recording over the conveniences of a more polished but less organic studio atmosphere is as vital to understanding the Wrens as any other factor. In his insightful remarks about the album, Okkervil River frontman Will Sheff, a dear friend of the band, described their preoccupation with salvaging five-year-old drum tracks rather than overdubbing new ones as “my definition of insane.” Read more at Stereogum: bit.ly

“Favor” features backing vocals from her boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers. “We sang on ‘Favor’ in Nashville the same day we recorded vocals for ‘Graceland Too’ and a song of mine,” Dacus said in a press statement. “That day had the same atmosphere as when we recorded the boygenius EP.” Bridgers added, “Julien is one of those people whose opinion you want to hear about everything. A true critical thinker with an ever-changing and ridiculously articulate worldview. Her music changes in the same way, and this record is my favorite thing she’s ever done. I’m sure I’ll think the same about the next one.” “Favor” is the third track to be released from Little Oblivions, which arrives February 26 via Matador.

“Heels is about knowing who we are,” Billy Nomates told NME. “It’s about acknowledging strength under scrutiny and pressure. It’s also about how playtime feels over. Stuff’s serious. We don’t know how any of what’s happening ends yet. There are about 10 threats every day at any given time that feel big enough to stop you from doing anything. It’s digging for a warrior approach to keep going.” "Heels" is the first single from the upcoming EP, Emergency Telephone, out March 5th.

The Nottingham Electronic punk duo says of their newest release that, ""Mork n Mindy" is the sound of the central heating and the dying smells of Sunday dinner in a house on an estate in 1982. Concrete, dinted garages, nicotine. Where beauty mainly exists in small cracks on the shell of your imagination. Captured perfectly in Ben Wheatley’s video for the song."
