Iconic West African dance band, Orchestra Baobab, has lost lead member Balla Sidibé, who we have learned has just died at the age of 78. The label World Circuit confirmed the news, citing Balla died in his sleep after a short illness. “Balla was a giant of African music and a great and gentle man,” World Circuit wrote.
