"I used to listen to KEXP when I was a post doc back in the early 2000’s... KEXP introduced me to so many artists and is the reason I am a huge fan of Band of Horses and The National to this day.
Recently, my company blocked music streaming and that really hit me hard especially as I am working from home and music is more important to me now than ever. So, no more Spotify. However, not all bad news. One day KEXP just popped back into my head. So I went to your site and low and behold, it worked!! I am not sure why I drifted away, but I am so glad to be back! Thanks for all you do! Could you play something from one of the artists above?" - John
"This song is about the inadequacy of language. It was written around the time that those currently in power took it upon themselves to think that they could minimize the existence of certain people by removing the words that we currently use to define them — like transgender — from use. Language is bigger than the powers that try to control it, but we are so much bigger than language. We are so much more than anything that can be suggested with words."

Event InfoThe Jesus Lizard request from Doug.
David Yow of The Jesus Lizard once noted on this song that it is specifically about Britt Walford who played drums in Slint: "Steve Albini had to leave town for a little while and Britt was going to house sit for him and in no time Britt lost the keys to the front door so he came home drunk one night and he ripped the front door down and instead of like putting it back on the hinges and fixing it, he just nailed 2×4’s up to fix the door, and he broke the toilet and it was raining...water into the basement where Steve’s recording studio was set up… I think Steve and I were talking about this occasion and he said, “I mean don’t get me wrong, he’s a nice guy, I like him just fine, but he’s a mouth breather.”

The second single from Bob Mould's new album 'Blue Hearts,' which will be out on September 25th. He notes about the lyrical content on this one, "I’m having a hard time understanding how certain religious sectarians can support the behavior of those who occupy the People’s House. How can you endorse their disregard for truth? How can you tolerate the incessant vindictiveness? How can you stand by your man while people are teargassed to clear a path to the Lord’s House? I’m not good at quoting scripture, but I can manage two words: Jesus wept.”
In a modest statement, Archers of Loaf described this song: “"Of all the songs Archers of Loaf have written and recorded over the last 28 years, ‘Talking Over Talk’ ranks 26th (out of around 75, give or take a few) in overall relative quality. It’s no rock epic like ‘Wrong’ or ‘Harnessed in Slums,’ but it’s no snooze fest like ‘After the Last Laugh’ or ‘Death in the Park,’ either. If you’re a fan already, you’ll probably allow it into the lexicon with mild enthusiasm. If you’re new to the Archers, however, you probably won’t make it through the first minute or so, which is understandable because there are so many other sounds to enjoy during your short time here.”
More new music that Elvis Costello recorded in Helsinki because, “I wanted to go somewhere nobody knew me.”

Just got our hands on this new single from IDLES third album, 'Ultra Mono.' Joe Talbot says about this one, ""A Hymn" is a hymn that rejoices in the sinister flesh-eating virus of the pedestrian.
