"I'm hoping you can play Cranberries "Linger" for my best friend Nicole. She lost her mom this week and I'm trying to support her during this impossible time. Nicole and I met freshman year of college in 1993 while she and her roommate were popping popcorn in the common room microwave. When she casually mentioned to her roommate she wanted to check out the Cranberries' album, I could not contain my enthusiasm and heartily recommended it, even though I was definitely not a part of their conversation. It was one of the few albums my roommate and I could agree on, so it was on heavy rotation in our room. This memory has nothing to do with Nicole's mom, but it was the first time the two of us spoke, and it brings us back to a time when we were young, carefree and too blissfully ignorant to even appreciate it. Growing up and being an adult is hard, but music, memories and dedicated friends make it bearable. I just want Nicole to know she is not alone. Thanks, John for keeping the music spinning. We are not alone." - Kristen

Danielle Haim told Apple Music, "This song literally took five minutes to write, and it was written with Rostam. It’s about waking up to a reality that you just don’t want to face. In a way, I don’t really want to explain it: It can mean so many different things to different people. This is the heaviest song we’ve ever had. It’s really cool, and I think this one will be really fun to play live. The guitar solo alone is really fun."

"I'd like to request a song for my BFF's birthday. We've been friends since the 80s and have pretty much always lived in different states. One of the ways we keep in touch now is through KEXP. Lisa listens live from Seattle and I listen online from Salt Lake City. At least once a week, one of us texts the other about a song or set we're listening to. It stinks to have a birthday during a pandemic and since I know she's listening, I was hoping that you could play Prince's Let's Go Crazy for my oldest friend, Lisa, so that we can have a Friday morning birthday dance party. Thanks for all you do" - Christie

"My grandmother passed on Wednesday. To say she was adventurous is an understatement. Her and my grandfather lived in many places around the world before settling in Ontario, Canada. I will always cherish those memories at backyard barbecues listening to stories like the one where they reflected on discrete wine bottle disposal on ATV rides in deserts of the Middle East. My grandfather passed two and a half years ago. They were together 65 years. I still remember them receiving a letter from the Queen [Commonwealth thing] on their 50th wedding anniversary and how they played it off like it was nothing. She had a hard time the past few months with quarantine compounding the loneliness of losing her husband. The last trip they went on together was to ride in gliders over canyons in Western Canada. Can I hear "Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd for Gerry and Shirley, a beautiful model of a joyful union." - Ken, Somerville, MA

"Today, my life makes another huge change as we finalize the sale of our Seattle home and are no longer city dwellers, but full time Port Townsend residents. This little town is full of musicians, artists, farmers, progressives and generally good vibes and we've been welcomed by so many so I have no doubt it will be a good thing. BUT, saying goodbye is so hard and I know I will have some future FOMO for sure. Could you play Naive Melody for Chuck and I? I know no matter where we are, as long as we are together, we are home!" - Christine
