Good morning Seattle, and welcome to the Wednesday edition of The Morning Show. How are you holding up? Reach out to us at dj@kexp.org
Happy 35th anniversary to New Order's third LP 'Low-Life,' released on this day in 1985.
Ellie writes in this morning: "Thanks for helping us feel connected around the world! Please could you play 'We Continue' by DAM-FUNK ? Please? A good tune for motivation! Love and Peace xoxo"
Happy 70th birthday to Stevie Wonder, born on this day in 1950!
Michael writes us: "With Stevie Wonders’ birthday, I would like to request that you play Happier than the Morning Sun with a dedication to my husband Woody. Woody is a dentist at Downtown Public Health and he and his colleagues are frontline workers who have continued through the COVID-19 pandemic to provide care to our homeless and other at risk populations in Seattle. A good friend sang Happier than the Morning Sun at our wedding ceremony six years ago this June. It’s a special song to us and I’m happy to say that after almost six years of marriage and twelve years together, Woody still makes me happier than the morning sun."
Jonathan wrote in asking for this one because he "...needs some rousing optimism!"
Tour plans for this new album from the long-running Seattle band are on hold due to COVID-19, but keep up with them here: pearljam.com
