Good morning Seattle, and welcome to the Thursday edition of The Morning Show. How you feeling today? Reach out to us at dj@kexp.org "I find myself singing the hymn Wondrous Love on tour a lot... It’s such a beautiful reminder of the fact that in moments of great joy, great suffering or great overwhelm, the relief of surrendering to the wildness and unknowability of life is always available. There is always the option to drop into presence with the details. The movement of a leaf in a draft of air or the spinning of a ceiling fan or the feelings in your body. Being human is raw, especially now, and Wondrous Love is an invitation to touch down in the moment, and let yourself be." - daughterofswords.bandcamp.com

"My husband and I are long time listeners of KEXP - almost 15 years! Today our daughter, Stella is turning 1! She’s been listening to KEXP pretty much since she was born. We have you guys on all day everyday and lately it’s been really helping us get through these unprecedented times. Her favourite is hearing the opening ID with the kids singing :) But for her birthday we would love it if you could please play Let Down by Radiohead. You played this track a while ago and she was rocking out to it. Thanks so much - we really appreciate it!" - We appreciate you, Mike & Kania. Happy birthday to Stella!

"Could you play new Fontaines? We discovered them via the Morning Show, and think fondly back to last fall when we did the now unthinkable--took the metro up to a tiny underground rock club to see Fontaines play a sold out show. Hard to imagine the pleasures of the old world in our new reality, but I remain hopeful. You and KEXP and music are seeing us through. Thank you for your commitment to our community. Be well, stay safe!" - Kate in DC Their new album is out on July 31st: fontainesdc.bandcamp.com

Just announced from Wussy on their Facebook page: "There’s no easy way to say this but our friend and band mate John Erhardt has left us. He died this past Monday. The details aren’t ours to know or share so as a courtesy please don’t inquire... John gave us a beauty that we’ll never see again. A combination of love, friendship, stability and that amazing swirling sound. Truly a wonder. A backdrop to everything that we are, in the band and in life. To say we’ll miss him is an understatement. It’s not gonna be the same from here on out nor should it. Death’s like that. We’ll continue to keep making up stuff, play it to the best of our abilities and make more records. There will be a hole and we’ll likely leave it that way. You can’t replace some things." See the full statement here: www.facebook.com
