"It was hard to get out of bed today, facing another day of unemployment and isolation. But I turned on the radio to hear T. Rex followed by George Harrison and danced in my kitchen. You have helped me more than you can ever know. Music is the cure. Music is pure. Thank you so much" - Susan

"Like most everyone, the events of the past few months (years?!) have elicited a range of emotions, but none quite as sharp & overwhelming as yesterday- literally watching protesters antagonize healthcare workers in my city the same day we learned of a grandparent's exposure in her assisted living facility.
Struggling to understand. Struggling with forgiveness. Please play 'No Hard Feelings' by the Avett brothers. It reminds me to start with myself first, and to do what I can." - This for you, Stacey
A song Brandon Summers of local band The Helio Sequence wrote with The Morning Show in mind! No link for this one up yet, but you can support The Helio Sequence here: theheliosequence.bandcamp.com
"On Saturday morning (April 11), we got a surprise call from our adoption agency letting us know that a birth mom had chosen us to plan her adoption for a baby boy born the day before in Oregon. We had a couple of hours to pack and get dogsitting sorted. We had a video call with the birth mom and then drove down and picked baby Elliott up from the hospital Saturday night. We feel truly lucky to have been entrusted with the raising of this little dude.
We had to stay in Oregon for a few days until the court gave us permission to leave the state and come back home to Seattle. While we were there, we streamed KEXP and hearing your voice made us feel like we were home and that everything was going to be ok. Thank you for that.
We're back home now and constantly have KEXP playing on the radio--it's the soundtrack for our lives. We're proud Amplifiers. And I can't wait until quarantine ends and we can take Elliott to the gathering space, the Father's Day Kids Dance Party, and other events." - CONGRATS TYLER! Thank you for sharing this with us, and here's the Prince request for you!

Blue Monday typically falls on the third Monday of January, and is claimed to be the most depressing day of the year. Though we think all of March and April this year could contest that one.
"Love your show and how it's keeping me on schedule here in Cleveland, Ohio. It's a weird time to celebrate turning 40 and I would love to hear "Breath" from Pearl Jam if it fits in with your 4/20 mix. This song, to me, feels hopeful and the line "Run away my son, see it all, oh see the world" seems to be on repeat in my brain as we are all anxious to get back to normal life!" - Happy 40th birthday, Natalie, this one's for you!
"Could you play Don't Change by INXS? I think it will help trick me to think I can conquer this week. Thank you!!!!" - You got it, Mandie

"I'm listening from The Hague in the Netherlands, and your show and the music you play has helped me a lot these past weeks, especially with the last hours of work in the afternoon (not so much a morning show here).
You always know just which song to play to lift my spirits in these difficult times, and the Quarantaine Boogie has become a household favourite here (we had so much fun when you played it twice in a row last week). Can you play it again today?" - For you, Ayla!

"I am requesting a song on behalf of my brother-in-law Sam that would have been 39 today, but he passed unexpectedly in his sleep about a month ago. We were able to have an online viewing of his funeral service at his and my sister's church in London, England. It was a very powerful and moving experience. Although this loss has hit all of his loved ones very hard, the opportunity for friends and family from all over the world to take part in the ceremony was special.
He was a very intelligent and caring man, an activist and someone that fought for the rights of people and animals alike. Please play the closing song from his service. Starman by David Bowie. Thank you KEXP and Sam, I hope you are rocking it in the stars with Bowie at this very moment. " - Emily, we're so sorry for your loss. This one's for you.
This one is for Theo, who turns 8 years old today! Happy birthday!
