Kris writes in with this request: "Hope you have a nice weekend, whatever that is anymore..! It's the two 'S' days that are in between the other days, so celebrate! It's also the 2 days I don't have to walk to my desk and tap the mouse to keep my remote desktop link up and my 'available' status on, then go back to guitar."

"I’ve started listening to KEXP regularly of late, having stumbled upon you a while ago when I found your London Grammar session on YouTube.
Thought I’d try making a request today. How about London Grammar’s Hell to the Liars? It would be really good to hear it and a great way to demonstrate how music can keep us all connected; no matter how far we’re meant to stand apart." - For you, Richard!
A new song (this is still a demo version) from R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and Aaron Dessner of The National // www.youtube.com

"I’m a tour manager in the music industry and our industry has been shut down as you know, so I have a lot of time on my hands these days. The one thing I've done during this downtime is turn off the news and turn on KEXP from morning until night. The team has really helped me get my mind off of what’s going in in the world for a good 10 hours a day. Much appreciated. Keep up the great work and keep the great music flowing…. We need it!! It would be really nice to hear Get Down Moses by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros." - We got you, Tim. Thanks for being here.
"Just wanted to let you know how proud I am to be a member of KEXP. This past month you and the whole crew have really put out a positive vibe, and it's appreciated. Empathy, kindness, humor and yes, love. I feel it and I know we all need it. So thank you." - Jeff in Bellingham, thank you, this MMJ is for you!
For Bob and his bakery!
"I am a social worker in DC. One of my clients is critically ill with COVID-19 pneumonia. She is on a ventilator and not expected to survive. I'd like to send this song out to my beautiful client, CT. She is a delightful person. I'm still holding out hope she can beat this." - Wanda, hoping for the best outcome on this. This one's for you and CT.

"What you provide isn’t just music, we could all play songs on streaming services and hear only our favorite songs. But what you do is give us a human connection that’s lost with Spotify. Hearing a block of 80s new wave or classic hip-hop or a live show from the front lawn or whatever is a fun surprise and knowing that so many others are enjoying is a little bit of connection. That connection is what provides a feeling of comfort and belonging to a community.
In this time of isolation, thank you to you and all of KEXP for keeping us feeling connected. We are not alone. (Maybe a little “Dancing With Myself”?)" - You got it V, thank you!
Happy 1 year anniversary to Beyonce's 'Homecoming: The Live Album', released on this day in 2019!
Lindsey Buckingham told GQ in 2015 about the inspiration for this song: “I was in a room in the town square [of French fishing village Barfleur] with a horrific hangover, and I was woken by the sound of the local brass band that relentlessly went round and round the square. As the day went on, they got drunker and drunker. But one thing was apparent. Everyone followed the brass band around the town, and I thought, ‘What a good idea!'”
Request for Stacy!
Here it is the groove slightly transformed
Just a bit of a break from the norm

somethingsomethingsomethingsomethingsomethingsomething LEONARD BERNSTEIN
"My husband and I were talking in the middle of the night, and the lyrics "is this real life, is this just fantasy, caught in a landslide, no escape from reality" popped into our heads and seemed so fitting right now.
Funny story - I was taking out the trash the other day and ran into my next door neighbor in the hallway. She noted my KEXP t-shirt and said "nice t-shirt - when you know, you know." And then we talked about how lucky we are that due to east coast time, we get to listen to you and Cheryl all day.
Thanks. Stay healthy and sane. We're trying to do the same. The sanity is eluding us some days." - Sarah in Brooklyn

Where we really want to go, and we'll walk in the sun
But till then, tramps like us
Baby, we were born to run
