"We've lost 7 NYC Local 100 members so far and we are struggling to find them PPE as the authorities they work for in NY/NJ/PA are just not doing enough. We've been distributing thousands of surgical masks to our members and we can't keep up. So depressing... Got any Catherine Wheel you can throw on while we drive around with limited supplies?" - Angelo, wishing health and safety to you and all your team out there!

"How are you this morning? Thank you for reminding all of us what day it is! And for continuing to be a rock in our lives as we navigate this weird f*&^#ng world we now live in. Some days are better than others, but today the sun is shining in NYC and I'm thinking about the other side of all this. The song Cloudbusting by Kate Bush is in my head and seems so appropriate right now. Maybe you can sneak it in today? Thanks again to you and everyone at KEXP for keeping the light on in these dark times." -Leslie (proud Amplifier in Brooklyn)

"Wondering if you could spin Living in Another World by Talk Talk (any Talk Talk really). I appreciate the normalcy that hearing you and the whole KEXP gang everyday brings. We got this!" - Devon at The Ballard Swedish Imaging Department

"I wanted to write for ages... So here we go, good opportunity... I love you! I have been listening since around 2004 when I was in London! Then you've followed me/I've followed you in France... The Balkans... And again in England... These days are the weirdest for everyone... In the chaos and darkness, I hope we will rise up and make a better society... Who knows? In that theme please can you play Eddie Vedder's society song please? Love and Peace." - Ellie

From Pearl Jam regarding cancellation of their tour due to COVID-19: "As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate. Our kids’ schools have closed along with universities and businesses. It’s been brutal and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better... We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters as top priority... " Read the rest of the full statement here: bit.ly

"Thank you so much for staying with us every morning and all the great music. My request would be “Can we pretend” by Bill Withers, let’s forget about yesterday(s/past weeks). You are not alone too." - Constant from Montreal
...
"Have been a carpool buddy of a guy in Denver who listens to your station religiously. Listening to your program and the stories shared by your listeners these past few weeks have awakened something in my soul that's been dormant for a long time. Worrying about isolated elderly parents with in California and Iowa has been excruciating with music becoming a transcendental, almost spiritual refuge. Please play 'Laugh With' by Regina Spektor for all of us forging new links to faith during these turbulent times and thank you for all you do. Be well." - Stacey in Denver
...
"Inevitable, but the mid-April show at the Anthem in DC has been postponed indefinitely. I had seats in the second row, and was really looking forward to it! I have long been a fan, but have never seen them live. Any chance you can squeeze in a Dead Can Dance song? Thanks for being here every morning. It really does make a difference." - Matt in Silver Spring, MD

"Hope you are hanging in there and thanks for making our days a little brighter even as they blend into one another.... How about a DJ favorite, Stones Roses' "Fool's Gold" (favorite in that it is so long you can step away from the booth for a minute if you need to).... seemed appropriate for April 1. You are not alone. Ever. Thanks for the reminder. We'll get through this." - cdb

For Simon, who wanted to hear a pirate song today!

"Love your show and have been an avid listener for years now. It’s a joy to be a member of this community as a listener and Amplifier. I work as a volunteer coordinator for a Seattle food bank and as I’m sure you can guess it’s a crazy time right now. We’re doing our best to keep getting food out to people. The words ‘exhausted’ and ‘stressed’ don’t even begin to describe what we’re feeling, but we’re committed to getting through this! Would you please play “Hey Snow White” by the New Pornographers. I need some encouragement today." - Alea

"How bout Vince Guaraldi's "Linus & Lucy", just because it's a collective happy memory song... and a damn good tune. Thanks 4 everything." - Steve // It's dance party time!

"Hoping you can play our request sometime this week both as a tribute to our stupidity and as a PSA to listeners everywhere. We had a close call with a house fire earlier this week - had left a piece of furniture too close to a heater, and our morning turned to mild chaos when the smoke alarm blared and we frantically searched for the source of the smoke. Thankfully, we stopped the smolder before it burst into flames, but it had us shaken up and thankful - the last thing anyone of us needs while quarantined is a house fire. I can't even imagine. So, if you could play Burning Down the House this week, with a friendly reminder to listeners to check their smoke detector batteries (and their fire extinguisher!) we'd appreciate it. Thanks for the sanity and community during good times and bad. We love KEXP. Stay safe and healthy! " - Megan and Brian

"We're here, we're together, and we're listening! You just mentioned an 8:30 dance party, and - first, I had to do the math and realize that means 11:30 in Brooklyn :) - but then, it made me think of Ghostland Observatory's Sad Sad City - it's the PERFECT dance song, and this really is a sad, sad, city these days. And there ain't no party! Keep safe, keep well - thanks for helping us all stay sane." - Michele
...
"Hunkered down in NY. Day #i don’t know anymore. Suggestion for today’s dance song: Dance Commander by Electric 6, because why not? Thanks for keeping us all sane. You’re amazing. Cheers." - Pieter

Some Pink Floyd for Isolde <3 "I'm sitting in my room catching up on my homework (all courses online) I head into the hospital later today...I'm staring at the pictures of my kids that are plastered on the wall--that often distracts me... Working at the hospital has been surreal and we just put one foot in front of the other...my only worry is possibly bringing this back to my home, my kids... I have tried to be low key with the kids and my husband, but the truth is I'm scared. And the wall o' photos makes me smile ear to ear every time, especially right now. KEXP is one of my serious coping strategies at the moment...THANK YOU!!!"

"It's one of my favorite songs that reminds me of the resilience of the human race in the face of tragedy. Thank you for being there today and every day and reminding us we are not alone. You aren't alone, either." -Alida

"I'm in Chicago listening to KEXP. I love your broadcast for the always fantastic song choices that always seem relevant to the day or time we are living in. Mixed in with your kindness and big heart and caring personality, you're the best! I remember a while back you played "Some Sunsick Day" twice! If possible, can you squeeze it in to celebrate a grey, midwest Wednesday?" - Gary

"Today in Perú it's the 17th day since the government started the quarantine and the state of emergency. It's not easy for a lot of people and friends, because of the anxiety and depression. I would like to request Running Red Lights of The Avalanches. Perhaps one the best songs of the year so far. Hope you are doing great in Seattle and thanks for keeping us going forward in this difficult times. Also, You are not alone!" -Aldo

"I'm now on my third week of working from home and am going crazy from not actually being able to do my job at home (I work in a research lab). Everyday I turn on KEXP, turn on my laptop, and then then just stare at it for a few hours as I try and work on a few projects. At least KEXP has remained part of my daily routine. Could you play Something Soon by Car Seat Headrest, because I need something to do soon." - Mason.

"I know the last year has been particularly brutal for a lot of people, myself included. I lost my father to pancreatic cancer, had to quit a job that was having a significant and negative effect on my mental health, etc...but, KEXP and everyone there has done a lot to remind me that I am not alone, something that I so much appreciate. As I am working at home for my fantastic new company with my 4 year old bringing me toys and listening to KEXP I am thinking "I am ok". As such would like to hear the song of the same name by Lea Porcelain. Cheers." - Christian
