The band's name referred to a sleeve design on the Buzzcocks' single "Promises", and was inspired by Buzzcocks vocalist Pete Shelley's constant interfering with the initial sleeve designs.
Handsome Furs was a Montreal-based duo which consisted of Dan Boeckner, of Wolf Parade and Atlas Strategic, and his now ex-wife, Alexei Perry.

On songwriting for the album Laura Hermiston “I write about my experiences with sexism and people who act entitled to take advantage of you because that’s what I feel like I can comment on honestly. In the past I’ve felt like my voice isn’t heard and had to bite my tongue to avoid stirring up drama. I wanted to speak up about my personal experiences while still saying something universal.”
Since March 2018 the song has been the theme song for the german late night show Late Night Berlin

A collaborative project between the Estonian-born producer Maria Minerva and the late Cherushii, aka Chelsea Faith. The two producers were friends and penpals, they had started to collaborate on a project before Chelsea Faith was tragically killed in the Oakland Ghost Ship fire in 2016. Thanks to David Last, Adam Gunther and Brian Foote the recordings have since been finalized and will be released on 100% Silk next month

Early-’90s British shoegaze band Swervedriver broke up in 1998, got back together in 2008, and released their first album in 17 years in 2015, recently getting back together again for this new release!
Diesel and Dust, the album from which Beds are Burning was drawn, was the result of Midnight Oil’s 1986 Blackfella-Whitefella tour of Indigenous communities with the mostly Aboriginal Warumpi Band and Gondwanaland. "Beds are Burning" was written as a protest song to speak on Australia's mistreatment of the indigenous populations.
The supergroup has teased a tour to go along with their upcoming 2019 release, with an appearance at Australia’s Byron Bay Bluesfest in April already confirmed. Keep an eye out for other dates hopefully to come soon!

While Neon Indian hasn’t released an album since 2015’s VEGA INTL. Night School, Alan Paloma has pursued a variety of other projects. He recently directed his first short film titled 86’d, a 13-minute film depicting “five seedy stories” at a 24-hour deli. Last year, Paloma scored the sci-fi film Everything Is Far Away.
