There is debate over the subject of the inspiration for this song. One claim says that an argument between Michael Hausman and bandmate/former girlfriend Aimee Mann inspired the song's lyrics, but producer Mike Thorne disputes this and states the lyrics originally had Mann singing to another woman and that the gender was changed due to pressure from Epic Records. In his 2013 autobiography, Ministry: The Lost Gospels According to Al Jourgensen, Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen made the claim that the song is based on a brief relationship he had with Mann while living in Boston. bit.ly

"Going Thru It" features Seattle's own Stas THEE Boss!
J. Dilla took Stan Getz' "Saudade Vem Correndo" and flipped the horn arrangement along with the guitar and piano. He also took the horns from Woody Herman's "Flying Easy" as well as the brush drums from James Moody's "You Follow Me." Run DMC's - Rock Box is also sampled vocally. The "Run" sample plays in part of the song's hook.

The new album finds the Bay Area's Deafheaven moving in a vastly less abrasive, more soothing direction. Deafheaven recorded the LP with Paramore/M83 collaborator Justin Meldal-Johnsen, though past Deafheaven producer Jack Shirley still engineered the record. 'Infinite Granite' leans more toward shoegaze and prog than the ambitious black metal of the band’s past.
