Mr. James is hitting the road. He's a road warrior on a long, lonesome highway, east of Omaha. Turn the page. With the release of his new album "Uniform Clarity" this coming Friday, James takes his solo act on the road. Unfortunately the closest he gets to Seattle is the Fox Theatre in Oakland Saturday, November 3rd. Look for him in various cities across the U.S. this fall.
According to NPR Music, "The 10-track album, compiled by Bradley and his longtime producer and co-writer Thomas "TNT" Brenneck, will feature recordings spanning Bradley's career in funk and soul and include covers of Nirvana's "Stay Away" and Neil Young's "Heart of Gold." Along with the announcement of the singer's final album, Dunham is sharing the track "I Feel a Change" as the album's official lead single."

We read that Thom Yorke changed the song list for Hail to the Thief. Here's what it looks like. Oh, and if it's on the internet, it must be true. community.drownedinsound.com
Michael writes: Here in Cincinnati, we, of our fellowship, lost a pillar in the foundation of our recovery network. My Great-Grandsponsor, Ivan F passed away after a ferocious battle with cancer. He touched thousands of lives. There was even a special news story on the Celebration of Life held this past Saturday. I often hear your stations reminder that we are Never Alone. You can see the footage on Local 12 ; RE: Ivan Faske. I just celebrated 25 years clean on Sunday, thanks to people like Ivan. Please play ‘Dreams’ by the Cranberries for our friend Ivan.
Thanks
Michael

Live at the Showbox Friday November 16th.
One show listed, and it's in Brooklyn,
Friday October 12th at Market Hotel. Now, some important info: Before Ed Schrader’s Music Beat, the project was just Ed Schrader with a floor tom. A 10” from four years back documents this era. In 2009 Devlin Rice joined Ed for a one-off show. This mind meld took the left field paranoid pop that Ed was composing and added a powerful low end power chug from the jug of eternal rock and raised the whole project a more visceral live experience
Thank you Stereogum for a nice synopsis of this new song and album from KEXP fav' Sharon Van Etten: The LP is called Remind Me Tomorrow and was written during an especially invigorating time in Van Etten’s life as she pursued a degree in psychology, had a baby, wrote her first original score for a movie called Strange Weather, and started pursuing a career as an actress.
Van Etten says via a press release “I want to be a mom, a singer, an actress, go to school, but yeah, I have a stain on my shirt, oatmeal in my hair and I feel like a mess, but I’m here. Doing it. This record is about pursuing your passions."

Language, the full-length debut from Starchild & The New Romantic, is the sound of Bryndon Cook occupying his space with unapologetic eloquence, envisioning a world where the crimson qualities of sensitivity and softness aren’t shamed, they are celebrated as magic.
“Black boys have a whole world of complexity that society makes us stomp out of ourselves.” Language communicates Cook’s refusal to do so. Describing himself early-on as a “young romantic boy from Maryland,” he’s long been a dreamer, a student of black music’s rich lineage and its intersection with pop. Broncho is an American indie rock band based in Norman, Oklahoma. The name Norman is funny....and scary. They have a really long US tour that takes them everywhere, but Seattle. What the heck Broncho! www.facebook.com

Troy says this song is about me, morning show producer Owen Murphy. That is both hurtful, and mean-spirited DJ Troy Nelson! Oh, and funny. - Owen
We worked up a version of ‘Jukebox Babe’ because our sound engineer Larry got it stuck in his head and was singing it all the time. We figured, we may as well play it if we’re going to hear it all the time.
...we never want to do faithful covers of great songs, because what’s the point. So we tried to push ... tracks in less obvious directions, incorporating other influences, like California psych and cosmic disco, giving them more of a summer vibe...”

"I felt the need to [address] where I am as a woman and what I’m feeling happening around me," she continues. "We refer to 'migrants' but we’re talking about people who have left their homes, left people they love and walked into complete and utter hostility. I wanted to reflect lives that are as valid as the ones we live. Because they’re not just coming here to take our s***.’" www.standard.co.uk

Of the band, one reviewer writes: Hooded Fang are the stars of their own horror flick, playing the last surviving rational humans in a city overrun with mind-numbed, inconsiderate, glass-eyed drones. And like all good scary movies, there’s a plot twist: this one’s actually a documentary.”
