Alt-J's latest album "Reduxer" is an 11-song reinterpretation of tracks from the band's third album, "Relaxer". The reworked album features remixes with Pusha T, Danny Brown, GoldLink, Twin Shadow, Rejjie Snow, and Little Simz
"Endtroducing" samples music including hip hop, jazz, funk, psychedelia, and heavy metal, as well as films and interviews. DJ Shadow layered, programmed, and cut samples into fragments to create tracks. He opted to sample more obscure selections, making it a personal rule to avoid popular material.

The Psychedelic Furs scored several hits in their early career. In 1986, film director John Hughes used their song "Pretty in Pink" for his movie of the same name. The band went on hiatus after they finished touring in 1992, but later regrouped in 2000 and continue to perform around the world; despite this, they have not released a full-length studio album since 1991's "World Outside".

French duo Air are frequent collaborators with Film Maker Sophia Coppola. Their 2nd album "The Virgin Suicides" was also used as Coppola's debut film with the same names's Soundtrack
Primal Scream was started by Jim Beattie and former The Jesus and Mary Chain drummer Bobby Gillespie in Glasgow. The band finally earned mainstream success with their 1991 album "Screamadelica"

Seattle based indie folk duo Arthur & Yu are actually Grant Olsen and Sonya Wescott. Their title refers to childhood nicknames. According to a Portland Mercury interview, Olsen explains that the songs were never meant to travel beyond the two, but Sub Pop founder Jonathan Poneman wished to release the songs on his new record label Hardly Art.
Aside from his successful solo career, Aloe Blacc is also a member of musical duo Emanon, alongside American record producer Exile. His 2015 album "Lift Your Spirit" was nominated for Best R&B Album at The Grammys

"Pretty Hate Machine" is compiled of reworked tracks from the band's Purest Feeling demo, as well as songs composed after its original recording. Although it was critically and commercially successful (especially for an independent label), Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails' only constant band member, feuded with TVT Records during the album's promotion.
Broken Politics was recorded at Creative Music Studio in Woodstock, New York, which was once used by Cherry's stepfather, jazz musician Don Cherry, and makes use of samples from the recordings of Ornette Coleman, a longtime collaborator of the elder Cherry. The studio was founded by another collaborator of the elder Cherry, Karl Berger, who contributed to the album; Neneh Cherry's longtime partner Cameron McVey also made many contributions.

On the recommendation of Elton John, The Slider was recorded outside of Paris at Château d'Hérouville to avoid British taxing laws. Production started on March 1972 and the basic recordings were completed in Strawberry Studios in five days. Bolan described Metal Guru as a "festival of life song", and that he related it to "all gods around... someone special, a godhead. I thought how god would be, he'd be all alone without a telephone".
"Key Lime Pie" featured a noticeably darker lyrical outlook as compared to the band's previous records. Musically, it featured less of the world-music influences of the previous albums, replaced with more elements of Americana, along with a lusher, a more orchestrated version of psychedelia than their previous records had featured.
Raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Tumor started making music at age 17 as an outlet to "get away from his dull, conservative surroundings." He taught himself to play drums, bass, guitar, and keyboards. Describing his experience growing up in Tennessee as unpleasant, he moved at age 20 to San Diego, and after college to Los Angeles, where he met Mykki Blanco in 2012, whom he later toured with for two and a half years throughout Europe and Asia.
In 2014, Aphex Twin, with the album Syro, won a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
The subject material for the album "Game Theory" follows the more serious tone of the album, with topics ranging from the war in Iraq to violence in music. Questlove was quoted as saying "There was too much going on that we couldn’t just sit back and not speak on it." In accordance with its more-serious tone, the album heavily references Public Enemy's highly-political It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back on its lead track "False Media".
"The Bends" was the first Radiohead album with artwork by Stanley Donwood, in collaboration with Yorke, who went under the name "The White Chocolate Farm" (later shortened to Tchock). In an interview with NME, Donwood recalled taking on the album cover design in a time of poverty in his life. He created the cover by filming a CPR mannequin with a cassette camera.
