FCS North bass player Josh Warren was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. The local electronic music community has organized a benefit show for him, We Love Josh, which takes place tonight at 7pm at the Crocodile. Josh is the father of three and has also played in local band Satisfact. The event brings together Seattle musicians and bands John Atkins with Plan B, IQU (first show in 10 years), DJ J-Justice, Select Level, and Truckasauras, with visuals by Blazin’ Space throughout the evening. The show is all ages, $10adv/15 dos with an additional donation option. All proceeds go to the Warren Family Cancer Fund.

The Warren family recently received the shocking news that Josh has colon cancer. He has begun chemotherapy and will have to take significant time off work. The proceeds of this fundraiser will help alleviate the financial burden that illness often causes families. The Warren’s need to focus their energy on Josh without worrying how they are going to pay their bills. Thank you for supporting them during this challenging time.

Bassist and composer Kristian Dunn and drummer Tim Fogarty formed El Ten Eleven in 2002 while living in the Silver Lake community of Los Angeles. They released their eponymous debut album, El Ten Eleven in 2004 on Fake Record Label, and through Bar/None Records on September 20, 2005. Many reviews of the album garnished the band with positive acclaim. Comparisons have been drawn to Sigur Rós and The Mercury Program, though reviews have heavily emphasized the duo's utilization of a limited number of musicians to create complex instrumental works. The Dallas Observer called them the fourth best instrumental band in the last twenty years. Spin, which awarded them the title 'Band of the Day', September 29, 2005, describes their work as "experimental instrumental music that's both highly skilled and deeply felt." bit.ly
