"I just love Björk and I love RVG. I was running on a treadmill which I don’t do very often and I was listening to “Army of Me” over and over again to make me feel stronger than I am. Then I thought why not try and cover this song with another artist that makes me feel stronger than I am and I did! Was a good musical punch in the face to wake me up from a year of living a very small quiet life. RVG are one of my favourite bands in the whole world and it was just a real blessing to spend some time with them making music."

Ministry covering Dylan featuring the late Bill Reiflin on drums. Ministry covered "Lay Lady Lay" during the eighth Bridge School Benefit charity concert in October 1994, with Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder performing backing vocals. Ministry later released a studio version in 1996. Initially, frontman Al Jourgensen wanted to cover Jimmy Webb song "Wichita Lineman", but had to choose another song after watching Urge Overkill performing it live

Bridgers claimed that the root of all her cover songs are the lyrics. “If you can unwrap it and at every level the lyrics are still amazing, that’s great,” she said. When it comes to the Cure’s 1992 hit “Friday I’m in Love,” Bridgers wrote the lyrics in her first school notebook. “I think I even made a little calendar for myself that incorporated the lyrics,” she laughed. She speculated she first heard the track on her iPod Shuffle, which was put on her library by a family friend. “That was very seminal to me and my music taste.”

Ducks Ltd. have teamed up with Jane Inc. for a cover of the Cure’s 1985 single ‘In Between Days’. It’s the second installment of The Sincerest Form of Flattery cover series, following their take on Jesus and Mary Chain’s ‘Head On’ featuring illuminati hotties.
Discussing the cover, vocalist Tom McGreevy said in a statement:
Robert Smith is a genius and the Cure are the best and I absolutely love this song. It’s such a simple one but all of the pieces slot together so neatly. We listened to all the demos he made of it, and it’s cool to hear how clearly the fundamental parts of it are realized on the very first one, even though he doesn’t have any lyrics yet and is just wordlessly singing the melody (which I also do when we demo stuff!). We mostly tracked this one on a day off when we were on tour with Nation of Language, so the vocal was tracked in the front seat of a parked Mitsubishi Outlander in the middle of the night outside an Airbnb in Grand Junction, Colorado. It’s also the first thing we’ve made that our bass player Katie plays on.

2020 cover of the 1993 Nirvana classic! Amber Mark self-produced and recorded this cover at her New York home during quarantine. She said in a press release: "People get to really see you in your most bare state and vice versa. That’s the beauty in the music I'm making right now. It's just me whipping up whatever I'm feeling."

This song was written and first recorded by Kirsty MacColl in 1979. However, a strike at her distributors prevented it from being released as a single, although it was popular on UK radio. Tracey's version, however, was a hit, and Kirsty MacColl provided backing vocals on this version: the 'bay-ay-be-ee' heard just before the last verse, is sung by her.
