"A Real Hero" is a song by French electronica artist College in collaboration with Electric Youth, released in 2010, and featured in the movie Drive. Electric Youth frontman Austin Garrick, along with David Grellier, who performs as College, have cited separate inspirations for producing the song. Garrick was inspired to write the song by a quote from his grandfather, who spoke of airline captain Chesley Sullenberger after the US Airways Flight 1549 water landing incident. Grellier, on the other hand, took inspiration from cinema, in particular the character Max Rockatansky of the Mad Max franchise. www.instagram.com

Chapterhouse were a British shoegaze band from Reading, Berkshire, England. Formed in 1987 by Andrew Sherriff and Stephen Patman, the band began performing alongside Spacemen 3. They released two albums: Whirlpool and Blood Music. "Pearl" was issued as the single on their debut album, Whirlpool.

Lush were an English rock band formed in London in 1987. The original line-up consisted of Miki Berenyi, Emma Anderson, Steve Rippon and Chris Acland. Phil King replaced Rippon in 1991. They were one of the first bands to have been described with the "shoegazing" label. "Split," released in 1994, was Lush's third studio album 4ad.com

Asobi Seksu was an American shoegaze/dream pop band based in New York City. Their music used a textured and effects-heavy vocal and guitar sound. This is the title track and first track from the album 23, by Blonde Redhead, who is vocalist Kazu Makino and the instrumentalists, twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace. The Pace twins were born in Milan, Italy, and grew up in Montreal, then moved to the states to study jazz in Boston. Meanwhile, Kazu Makino was a Japanese art student. They all met by chance at an Italian restaurant in New York. 23 is the first album to be self-produced by the group. In a press release accompanying the album, Makino stated that this "wasn't an entirely enjoyable experience. Without a producer, a referee, we could really get on each other's cases.
