“Heaven’s on Fire” begins with a sample of Thurston Moore from the documentary “1991: The Year Punk Broke”. The sample sets the theme for the song: youth liberation and emotional rebellion against big business and decrying the masses who Moore was trying to incite but who don’t really care.
From 1995 through 2010, Virginia band Sparklehorse was led by the singer/multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous, until his death by suicide in 2010.
